Sarah Leyda
Career Champion
Sarah joined SEP in 2024 to serve as a Career Champion. She works with students to help them develop career readiness and employability skills based on their unique interests and aptitudes and guides them through career-connected learning experiences. Her role advances our Career Pathway Initiative to empower individual students and the local business community by assisting the Stark County school districts with developing career-connected learning programs. Sarah is thrilled to help all students find their unique identities, passions, and purpose.
Sarah began volunteer work with youth in 1994 in North Carolina, which led to a Youth Ministry career in the Sandy Valley area where she and her husband established a Sandy Valley Community Youth Group through the Magnolia United Methodist Church. She also worked as a long-term substitute teacher in the Sandy Valley School District and later became the Administrative Assistant to their Superintendent. In her role at SEP, she is using over 20 years of her experience working with teens and the knowledge she gained working in education to continue to empower students to succeed.
Driven by her desire to reach teens, Sarah earned her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Theology/Youth Ministry from Malone College in 2006.
